Toledo Clinic Physicians Care About Their Community
Several Toledo Clinic Physicians extend their care beyond the office to participate in community service projects. We would like to recognize them for their efforts. They are as follows:
James M. Auberle, M.D. - Dr. Auberle is Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Clinic. He is also President-Elect of the Toledo Neurologic Society.
Ted Barber, M.D. - Dr. Barber has a special interest in Multiple Sclerosis. He is a former chair of the Professional Advisory Committee and recipient of their Professional of the Year Award for the Multiple Sclerosis Association.
Kevin M. Behrle, M.D. - Dr. Behrle works with a Hepatitis C support group.
G. Mark Burton, M.D. - Dr. Burton is on the Professional Advisory Board of the Wellness Community.
Stephen P. Camacho, M.D. - Dr. Camacho was recently appointed Lucas County Academy of Medicine/University of Toledo Mentorship Program Director. Dr. Camacho also serves as a Volunteer Clinic Faculty to the Medical School and is a volunteer Clinic Preceptor and Lecturer to the University Physician Assistant Program. He is a Board Member of SCORE, Special Commission on Relief and Education and Team Member for Medical Missions abroad. He is a contributing writer to an online website.
Stephen J. Farber, M.D. - Dr. Farber works with the Arthritis Foundation. He is also President of Friends of the University of Toledo Charities.
Nicolas M. Lopez, M.D. - Dr. Lopez is a member of the International Physicians of Northwest Ohio.
Rex Mowat, M.D. - Dr. Mowat is on the Toledo Community Clinical Oncology Board.
Michael A. Nagel, M.D. - Dr. Nagel contributes articles on epilepsy-related issues to The Torchlight, the newsletter of the Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio.
Ahed Nahhas, M.D. - Dr. Nahhas is a member of the International Physician Association.
Howard L. Ritter, Jr., M.D. - Dr. Ritter is the Medical Director of Visiting Nurse Hospice.
James E. Sander, M.D. - Dr. Sander is the Chair of the Professional Advisory Board of the Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio.
Howard Schecht, M.D. - Dr. Schecht is Co-Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Clinic.
Bahu S. Shaikh, M.D. - Dr. Shaikh received the Outstanding Cancer Provider award from Hickman Cancer Center, Flower Hospital, 2010. Dr. Shaikh has also been appointed the physician Leader of the Survivorship Physician Advisory Council at the ProMedica Cancer Institute. This is a two-year appointment beginning December, 2010.
William C. Sternfeld, M.D. - Dr. Sternfeld is the Cancer Liaison Physician for the American College of Surgeons to ProMedica Central region. He has served as president of the Academy of Medicine of Toledo and Lucas County, Ohio State Medical Association and Ohio Chapter of American College of Surgeons. Currently, he is president of Toledo Community Oncology Program (TCOP), and is treasurer of the Academy of Medicine of Toledo and Lucas County.
