Adult Neurology at The Toledo Clinic
Accredited by Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers
TOLEDO, Ohio – According to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, there are more than 400,000 people in the United States who have multiple sclerosis. About 200 new cases are diagnosed each week.
Adult Neurology at The Toledo Clinic has placed a strong focus on MS care as part of its overall neurological practice. In recognition of its commitment to caring for MS, the practice and its practitioners have been accredited as Multiple Sclerosis Certified Specialists (MSCS).
This accreditation comes from the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC), the leading educational, training, and networking organization for MS healthcare professionals and researchers. The CMSC member network includes more than 7,000 international healthcare clinicians and scientists committed to MS care as well as more than 60 Veterans Administration MS Programs and 225 MS Centers in the US, Canada, and Europe.
Healthcare providers at Adult Neurology include Dr. Howard Schecht, Dr. Purvi Saraiya, and Nicole Giudici, PA-C. Dr. Schecht and Dr. Saraiya are board-certified neurologists.
Speaking on behalf of the practice, Dr. Schecht said that the three practitioners “have a strong and ongoing interest in the care and diagnosis of multiple sclerosis and are committed to helping provide better and more comprehensive care in the region.”
To earn this certification, practitioners must see a significant number of MS cases over a period of years, pass a test on MS diagnosis and care, and commit to staying current on the latest research and treatment data.
“The Toledo Clinic is committed to providing quality, value and access to its patients,” Dr. Schecht said. “This certification means that MS patients can be assured that their care providers at Adult Neurology have met international standards.”
